Cards are the component to use when displaying thumbnail images with data. Designing intuitive cards for easy consumption is a challenge for many designers. They’ll often present the information in a rudimentary list format that doesn’t do the data justice.
In other words, the cards don’t have any data design magic added to them. They tend to look basic, bland, and bloated with information. As a result, users can’t find what they’re looking for efficiently and have to exert more cognitive effort in their search.
However, adding data design magic to your cards can make them look spectacular. Here’s a before and after shot showing how a magical touch can go a long way. The redesign contains the exact same data as the original design. The key difference is how the information is organized and presented.
